Don’t be Tricked

Some people boast quite openly of how they put false claims to insurance companies to make money. What they don’t realise is that they are telling everyone else that they are stealing from them. Upright people who fork out for insurance cover and do not claim have to foot the increasing charges that come out year on year. This is the only way that the insurers can ensure they make their profit. What has added to this industry is the prevalent activity of asking people if they have had an accident in recent memory to let them claim on their behalf. It’s a crazy world we live in.

Car Insurance

Insuring your car for extra drivers can be quite a rip off. I recently wanted use of my daughter’s car whilst visiting her for a month. There were already two names on the policy and I have been a driver for thirty two years: clean licence et al. I was so shocked when we were quoted one hundred and thirty pounds for this period of time. For a full year it was only ten pounds more than this. In the end I hired a car for the few days I really needed transport and it cost me less than the extra insurance cover. I just do not understand how these companies can justify such high fees.

Insurance Fraud

Insurance fraud is at its all time highest level. Companies used to employ large numbers of assessors to investigate most claims to ensure that only justifiable ones were paid out. The cost of this provision proved very high and since then the most of the larger organisations have taken a reverse step. It became apparent that to keep the inspectors on the road was far too costly for many of the claims’ value. Moreover, the hassle and the time taken dealing with rejected claims was not worth the effort. On the whole, only larger claims are given detailed investigation.
